Eintracht Frankfurt wants Arnaud Kalimuendo back in January

Eintracht Frankfurt’s search for a January striker has brought it back to Arnaud Kalimuendo. Frankfurter Neue Presse reports that the Nottingham Forest forward remains the club’s first choice after his loan spell in Germany last season.

Kalimuendo had played less than 90 minutes in the Premier League when Frankfurt first took him on loan on January 7. Nine days later, he scored his first goal for the club in a 3-3 draw at Werder Bremen. He finished the season with six goals and one assist in 19 Bundesliga appearances.

Frankfurt had an option to buy, but the 24-year-old returned to Forest in the summer. He remains under contract through 2030 and has again been limited to brief appearances off the bench in the Premier League.

When Frankfurt tried to bring him back in August, the clubs wanted different deals. Get French Football News reported at the time, citing Sky Germany, that Forest wanted more than €30 million for a permanent sale and had ruled out another loan with a purchase option.
