Alessio Dionisi says Watford in high spirits after week off

The Hornets got back to winning ways last weekend, courtesy of a 2-0 win at home to Charlton Athletic, a result that the club, team, and Dionisi sorely needed.

After enjoying a full week between games for the first time since the international break, Dionisi said his players are in good spirits and that they have had a productive week of training.

"Yes [it’s been a good week]," he beamed. "We stay better when we work after one victory. Now, it's better to work, not to speak, to prepare better for the next match against Wolves.

"Oh yes, [the result has given the team a lift]. The team, my players, have worked well this week. It was similar in other weeks, but it's better when we've got a positive result."

As well as giving his players more time to recover, the break has given the Italian head coach longer to work with his side before Saturday's trip to Molineux.

Dionisi could not hide his delight when asked about how beneficial the extended time between games after the win against Charlton has been.

"It's fantastic to work for a full week with 24 players, fantastic, but strange," he joked. "But now it's important to improve our position step-by-step, day-by-day, because this league is very long. Our team is younger, but the other clubs won't wait for us!"
