On Sunday, October 18, the Golden State Warriors opened the doors of San Francisco’s Chase Center for their traditional open practice, giving fans a preview of what to expect as the 2026-27 NBA season approaches. However, what was supposed to be an exciting afternoon for supporters took a concerning turn when Stephen Curry left practice and headed to the locker room without returning to the court.
Curry was involved in a play along the sideline against guard De’Anthony Melton when he appeared to feel discomfort after making a move on the perimeter. The point guard showed his frustration by slamming the ball to the floor as the action stopped and his teammates approached after noticing he was uncomfortable.
Shortly afterward, Curry left the court limping and did not return to practice.
For now, it is too early to draw conclusions about what happened to Stephen Curry, as the Warriors have not disclosed what caused his discomfort or whether he has suffered a new injury. However, his condition is worth monitoring, as it involves the same knee that kept him sidelined for 27 games last season.
