For the exciting divisional clash in Week 8, the Pittsburgh Steelers have ruled out two defenders for Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns.
Courtesy of the Steelers' final Week 8 injury report, Doneiko Slaughter (hamstring) and Brandin Echols (hamstring) were ruled out for Sunday's game with their respective injuries.
Slaughter, who began his NFL career with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent, signed a reserve/future contract with the Steelers in January 2026. Despite a strong training camp and preseason performance, Slaughter was released as part of final roster cuts before the 2026 regular season.
Slaughter was elevated from the practice squad for Pittsburgh's first three games before earning a spot on the active roster ahead of Week 4. Although he was subsequently released, Slaughter returned to the practice squad and was eventually re-signed to the active roster.
It remains unknown when Slaughter suffered his hamstring injury, but his Week 8 absence confirms that the injury is serious enough to keep him sidelined.
