CAMDEN, N.J. -- The Philadelphia 76ers are a group that has been overhauled in the offseason as the front office added some big additions. The Sixers will look to contend for a championship and get to the mountaintop for the first time since 1983 after the big additions of Jaylen Brown, LeBron James, and others.
Brown is coming off a season in which he averaged 28.7 points in the 2025-26 season and led the Boston Celtics to a 56-26 record despite it being considered a "gap year" by many due to the Jayson Tatum injury. As he looks to help the Sixers now, he is making an impact on everybody around him.
"I think Jaylen is a great guy," said big man Adem Bona at practice on Sunday. "He’s really intense. He’s super (about) details, like pay attention to details all the time. He looks at all the little things, like all the little details. So it's straight to business. You have to do this, you have to do that. So when I'm playing with Jaylen, it’s like, 'Oh, you’ve got to do the right stuff. You’ve got to be at the right spot.'"
Along with Brown being one of the big additions for Philadelphia, the Sixers will be looking to Anfernee Simons to give them some microwave scoring off the bench. Unable to play in the preseason due to a hamstring issue--like Bona with his foot sprain--Simons has made an impact and Bona has been happy to get some time with him.
"It's just been great," Bona said of Simons. "We love to work I like being out there too, so just pushes me more...Great guy, works hard like crazy. I mean, I see him in the gym every single day, so it's just been awesome. Have a good relationship, and it’s been great."
The Sixers will open the 2026-27 season on Tuesday when they take on the New York Knicks.
