Vincent Kompany will not be able to call upon Michael Olise next week against Arsenal
Bayern Munich boss Vincent Kompany has claimed Michael Olise's red card - which means he is suspended for next week's Champions League game against Arsenal - is the kind of incident that can have a "decisive impact" on a season.
The Bundesliga giants had battled back from 2-0 down at half-time to lead 3-2 in Norway against Viking but then surrendered victory in stoppage time after Olise's dismissal.
He was initially cautioned for a tactical foul and then received his marching orders following a second yellow for tossing the ball at Zlatko Tripic's head.
Olise will now sit out of next Wednesday's mouthwatering collision with the Gunners at the Allianz - a match Bayern need to win to get their top-eight qualification bid back on track.

Kompany said: “He knows he made a mistake. You can see that he's sorry about what happened and that he regrets letting the team down.
"That's absolutely fine – these things happen. Today wasn't a final or a semi final, but these are the kinds of moments that can have a decisive impact on a season.
"When you're much better than your opponent, sometimes you just need to play your game and focus on being the better team rather than getting involved in unnecessary situations.
“I told him that the opponent outsmarted him. We can't change that now. Hopefully we can look back on this as a moment when we learned a lesson."
The 24-year-old former Crystal Palace forward has been in red-hot form so far this season having scored eight goals on top of four assists across all competitions.
He also scored four goals and assisted two times across France's four Nations League matches against Turkey, Belgium (twice) and Italy during the international break.

Harry Kane, who bagged twice against Viking, admitted Olise made a mistake, stating: "He'll have to take responsibility obviously, he'll have to learn from it.
"It's a shame because obviously we have big games coming up in the Champions League now and he's going to be gutted to miss those games. But this is football. Sometimes mistakes can happen, it's life."
Arsenal are currently hunting down Bayern Munich's record of 17 consecutive Champions League group phase wins.
They are now on 14 after successfully dismantling Lille 3-0 on Tuesday at the Emirates Stadium and would need to beat the Germans away from home - something they haven't done since 2013 - to keep their hopes of toppling Bayern's record alive.
