We're only a few months into the season and Manchester United's injury problems are already beginning to stack up.

Michael Carrick has provided some updates ahead of his side's clash with Leeds today, and there will be late fitness tests on a couple of United's key players.

After deciding against signing another left-back in the summer, the last thing United needed was for Luke Shaw's body to fail him in the opening few months of the season. But that is exactly what is happening. The Reds did bolster their midfield options in the market but they still cannot afford to be without Kobbie Mainoo, another player suffering from a knock.

Ahead of a huge clash today, here's the latest United injury news:

Kobbie Mainoo

Injury: Unknown

The midfielder did not travel with the squad for the game vs Atletico. There will be a late check on his fitness today, with Carrick saying on Friday: "We'll see on Luke and Kobbie."

Potential return date: Unknown

Patrick Dorgu

Dorgu was taken off during Denmark's recent Nations League clash with Wales. "Patrick came off and looks like he'll be out for probably a number of weeks," Carrick said of the knock.
