Tottenham Hotspur go desperately in search of their first Premier League win of the season on Monday evening as they host newly-promoted Coventry City at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Spurs are 19th in the Premier League table, picking up only three points from six matches. Roberto De Zerbi’s side dominated large parts of the game against Manchester United last weekend but ended up coming away with just a point thanks to a stoppage-time equaliser from Dominic Solanke.
The Lilywhites will try their best to get their first win of the league campaign by beating Coventry City, who head to N17 off the back of a 4-1 success over Newcastle United.
Tottenham host Coventry City on Monday, 12 October 2026, with kick-off at 20:00 (UK time).
Supporters in the United Kingdom can watch Tottenham vs. Coventry City live on Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Ultra HDR.
Micky van de Ven only managed to be fit for a role on the bench against Manchester United last weekend. He came on in the second half in the 1-1 draw. Pedro Porro remains out with a hamstring injury, while Wilson Odobert and Xavi Simons are long-term casualties.
Dejan Kulusevski is close to returning from a long-term knee injury. The Swedish international took part in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Hotspur Way last week. However, he is unlikely to be involved in the clash with Coventry City.
Meanwhile, Rodrigo Bentancur will serve the first game of his three-match ban following his red card for headbutting Luke Shaw at Old Trafford.
As for Coventry City, Frank Lampard will be boosted by the availability of Kaine Kesler-Hayden and the return from suspension of Taiwo Awoniyi for Monday’s trip to Tottenham Hotspur. Josh Eccles and Luke Woolfenden are still sidelined.
Haji Wright remains out long term with a quad problem, while Aurele Amenda is unlikely to return until December.
Spurs missed several chances to put Man United to the sword and were ultimately punished for it. After going a goal and a man down, the Lilywhites, though, did not give up and fought until the end. And they were duly rewarded with a stoppage-time equaliser scored by Solanke.
De Zerbi would have taken a lot of positives from his team’s performance at Old Trafford. The Italian will want to see a fast start from his boys against Coventry City and put the visitors under pressure right from the first blow of the whistle. The Sky Blues have pace to hurt the opponents on the counter, as evidenced by their 4-1 dismantling of Newcastle. So, De Zerbi and Co. have to be wary of their tricky attackers.
Nonetheless, we feel the winless run will come to an end on Monday night. We sense a victory for De Zerbi’s side in the league, finally.
Score prediction: Tottenham 3-1 Coventry City
