Derby County's new signings have spoken of their delight at signing with the club after the announcement of a double goalkeeper signing on Tuesday.
Alfie Halliwell has joined the club along with Eterne Djedje , the pair bolstering the goalkeeping department of Danny Maye's Under-21s team.
Halliwell arrives after leaving Rangers' academy set-up in the summer while Djedje has signed following the termination of his contract with AFC Wimbledon.
Both will hope to eventually progress to the first-team squad and Halliwell has actually already turned out for the Rams' Under-23 side having made his debut in a Premier League 2 clash with Tottenham Hotspur at Long Eaton last month.
Now, they have had their say on signing for the club. Writing on the social media platform Instagram, Halliwell said: "The next chapter….Really pleased to have signed for Derby County. Grateful for the opportunity and excited for what’s ahead."
Halliwell's post was reacted to by Rams defender and fellow Scot Max Johnston and goalkeeper Richard O'Donnell with clapping emojis.
Meanwhile, Djedje wrote: "Proud moment for me and my family to sign my first professional contract and I’m thankful to God for this opportunity."
Speaking about the pairs' arrivals, Rams goalkeeper coach Paul Clements said: “The aim is to create a pathway from Academy to First Team.
“But at the moment we have several keepers out on loan: Cristiano Dzialuk (Worcester City), Harley Price (Anstey Nomads) and Sam Kane (Gloucester City), although they all still train with us at the club.
“We need keepers of a certain level at the club. Not just to keep for the Under-21s, but also to support sessions and keep standards high with the aim of producing a future no.1 out of the Academy.
“Eterne was out of contract; he came on trial for two weeks and impressed, so we decided to make him an offer that he accepted.
“Alfie is someone who we have been monitoring for a while."
