FC Barcelona secured a 5-2 victory over Real Betis in a lively La Liga encounter at the Estadio de la Cartuja.

Lamine Yamal gave the visitors an early lead with a stunning long-range effort in the 10th minute.

Valentín Gómez levelled the score with a headed goal from a corner, but Rodri put Barcelona back in front with another header shortly before the interval.

Early in the second half, Gabriel Jesus extended the advantage to 3-1, only for Abde Ezzalzouli to quickly reduce the deficit.

Eric García then made the result safe with a close-range finish from a set-piece situation.

Real Betis were reduced to ten men following a red card as Barcelona continued their flawless start to the campaign.

Here are the Barcelona player ratings:

Joan Garcia (6.5/10)

Solid enough with a couple of routine saves, but could do little about the goals conceded.

Distribution was clean and helped build from the back.

Jules Koundé (6.5/10)

Assisted the opener with a good link-up but looked shaky at times defensively.

Contributed going forward yet was beaten on the equaliser.

Pau Cubarsí (7.5/10)

Composed at the heart of defence and provided the assist for the fourth goal.

Won most of his duels and passed accurately under pressure.

Gerard Martín (6/10)

Struggled to contain the wide threat and was substituted at half-time.

Limited impact both defensively and in possession.

Xavi Espart (6.5/10)

Busy on the left flank with overlapping runs, but defensive positioning was occasionally exposed.

Rodri (8/10)

Scored a powerful header from a corner to restore the lead and controlled the midfield tempo.

Strong in both phases of play.

Pedri (7.5/10)

Dictated play with intelligent passing and recovery work.

Kept Barcelona organised and linked defence to attack smoothly.

Lamine Yamal (9/10)

Opened the scoring with a sensational long-range strike and provided the assist for Jesus.

Constantly dangerous and creative.

Fermín López (7/10)

Assisted Rodri’s goal from a corner and pressed energetically.

Involved in most attacking moves before being replaced.

Karim Adeyemi (6/10)

Showed pace on the wing but lacked end product and final-ball quality.

Substituted after a quiet display.

Gabriel Jesus (7.5/10)

Scored the third goal with a clinical finish and held the ball up well.

Linked effectively with the wide players.
