Filozofe Mabete and Swindon Town players impressing on loan

Swindon have three players out on loan at present, with Mabete at Forest Green Rovers in the National League, Terry has been with Melksham Town since the beginning of October, and Moulder headed to Swindon Supermarine two weeks ago.

Mabete has impressed on loan at Forest Green Rovers at The New Lawn, where he is set to stay until January, even if this season has been a difficult one for the team on the pitch.

The Nailsworth club are 17th in the fifth tier, although they have two games in hand on most in the division and could catapult themselves back into the play-off race by winning them.

Manager Robbie Savage departed for Peterborough United earlier in October, and they are presently working without a defined replacement, but did make it into the FA Cup First Round after a 5-0 replay win over Chesham United.

Mabete has started all games except one for Forest Green so far this season, with the 4-2 defeat to Hartlepool United the only exception, and that was largely due to the fact that he had been scoring to send DR Congo Under-23s beyond Mauritania in their Under-23 AFCON eliminator.

The Adver spoke with Ash Loveridge of the Stroud Times about his time in the National League, and he was glowing about his performances, calling him “imperious” and discussing how he had quickly grown into being a leader at the back, as well as demonstrating strong ability on the ball and aggression without it.

Mabete presently ranks 23rd for aerial duels won per 90 minutes in the National League so far this season and 31st for total duels won.

Elsewhere, Terry has quickly become a regular for Melksham, starting each of the four games since his arrival on a one-month loan, including helping them to a 6-0 victory over Portland United.

It has been a tough start to the season for Melksham, who are second bottom of the Southern League Division One South, but he has made a strong impression.

At the other end of the division, Moulder made a quick start to life at Supermarine, as he earned the man of the match on his debut against Worcester Raiders.

The young centre-back started again at the weekend against Hartpury, although that was a chastening 4-1 defeat on an off day for the side sat second in the division.
