Jets keep making the same Garrett Wilson mistake — and it’s time he speaks up
New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson (5) shakes hands with tight end Kenyon Sadiq, left, before an NFL football game against the New England Patriots in Foxborough, Mass., Sunday, Oct. 18, 2026.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — He has endured too many of these somber locker rooms, teammates dressing in silence, staring blankly ahead, wondering when and if a better tomorrow will ever come.

It is that much worse when your coaches acknowledge that you are the best player on the team and vow to get you the ball, and you do not get any chance to impact the game.

Garrett Wilson was given 130 million reasons prior to the 2025 season to help head coach Aaron Glenn change the culture and the losing, and only the names of the quarterbacks and coaches change while he strains to try to keep the faith and prays that his career will not be wasted.

The Jets lost 26-19 to the Patriots for any number of the usual reasons: lack of pass rush, short-yardage woes, communication problems, end-of-half ineptitude. The gap that Glenn has talked about closing on teams like the Patriots can never be closed if you ignore your best playmaker.
