Arsenal fans have always said that Jose Mourinho is obsessed with their side.

The self-proclaimed Special One has had a lot to say about the Gunners over the years, and many of those comments have been unprompted.

Just recently, Mourinho aimed a dig at Mikel Arteta after his contract extension at Arsenal for no reason at all. That, unsurprisingly, angered the Arsenal supporters then.

Now, the Real Madrid boss has said something about Arsenal again, but this time, fans may like it.

Jose Mourinho suggests Arsenal are Real Madrid’s ‘best’ opponents in the Champions League

Fans cannot wait for Arsenal vs Real Madrid in the Champions League.

The two sides are scheduled to face each other in December, and Jose Mourinho’s presence there spices things up because of his history with the Gunners.

Real Madrid have never beaten Arsenal in their history. They lost 5-1 on aggregate over two legs when they faced each other in the quarter-finals of the Champions League in 2025.

That will surely be on their minds going into this game, and Mourinho, as always, will be extra motivated to get another win over a side he has tormented over the years. The Special One may have even started a few mind games.

After Real Madrid’s thrilling win over Roma in the Champions League on Wednesday night, Mourinho spoke about how difficult it has been for his side so far in the competition. They faced Inter Milan first and the Giallorossi next in their two games.

While saying that, the Portuguese tactician claimed that he cannot call those two sides the best because Real Madrid still have to face Arsenal in the league phase of the competition.

He said, as per Madrid Zone on X: “We now have six points against two strong opponents, Inter and Roma.

“I’m not saying they’re the best, because Arsenal are still there, but in this group of eight matches, these two Italian teams were extremely tough fixtures, and we’ve put ourselves in a very good position with these six points.”

Both Arsenal and Real Madrid have won their opening two fixtures in the competition so far. The Gunners have scored two fewer goals than the Galacticos, but Mourinho’s men have conceded four more goals. In fact, Mikel Arteta’s side are the only team in the Champions League who are yet to concede a goal.

That makes the game in December a fascinating contest, and we can’t wait for it.
