imago1081673320h

The All Blacks have been hit by a brutal run of injuries ahead of November's Nations Championship, with 18 players suffering setbacks or facing recent fitness concerns.

Dave Rennie has already lost six players for the northern tour. Several more are fighting to get fit.

And some of the biggest names in New Zealand rugby are on the list.

The good news? New Zealand still thrashed Australia twice to retain the Bledisloe Cup.

The bad news? Their treatment room is getting rather crowded.

Here is the latest injury picture ahead of Tests against Scotland, Wales and England.

Six All Blacks ruled out

1. Ardie Savea – Shoulder

The All Blacks captain suffered a dislocated shoulder during the series against South Africa.

Savea required surgery and will miss the northern tour.

His absence is a huge blow for Rennie, who has turned to Codie Taylor for leadership.

2. Caleb Clarke – Shoulder

The powerful winger suffered a ruptured shoulder tendon.

Initial medical reports suggested Clarke would miss around five months.

That rules him out of the November Tests.

3. Luke Jacobson – Elbow

Jacobson underwent surgery after suffering an elbow tendon injury.

His recovery was initially expected to take four to five months.

The back-row forward will not feature in November.

4. Ruben Love – Ankle

Love suffered ankle ligament damage during the series against South Africa.

The talented playmaker requires surgery and is out for the rest of 2026.

His absence has left Rennie short of options at fly-half.

5. Ollie Norris – Knee

The prop suffered a knee cartilage injury.

New Zealand Rugby initially expected Norris to return during the Super Rugby pre-season.

He will miss the northern tour.

6. Leroy Carter – Ankle

Carter is the latest player to join the injury list.

The winger suffered a high ankle injury while scoring against Australia at Eden Park.

He has since undergone surgery and will miss the Nations Championship Northern Series.

Players facing fitness concerns

7. Richie Mo'unga – Calf

Mo'unga suffered a calf tear during training before the Bledisloe Cup.

Rennie suggested the fly-half could face six to eight weeks out.

That puts his involvement in November in serious doubt.

8. Jordie Barrett – Calf

Barrett missed the second Bledisloe Cup Test after suffering calf tightness.

The injury failed to settle in time for the match in Sydney.

New Zealand will hope the centre recovers before the tour.

9. Shannon Frizell – Knee

Frizell suffered a knee injury during the 43-21 victory over Australia.

The forward required further medical checks.

His availability for November remains uncertain.

10. Samisoni Taukei'aho – Calf

The hooker was another casualty of the Sydney victory.

He left the field with calf tightness and was due to undergo a scan.

Rennie will be hoping the issue is minor.

11. Quinn Tupaea – Concussion

Tupaea was forced off early against Australia after suffering a concussion.

The centre must complete the required return-to-play process.

His availability will depend on medical clearance.

12. Will Jordan – Calf

Jordan was withdrawn during the second Bledisloe Cup Test.

The outside back was struggling with calf tightness.

His withdrawal was described as precautionary, offering some hope ahead of November.

13. Ethan Blackadder – Calf

Blackadder missed the second Test against Australia with a calf injury.

The hard-working forward has endured another frustrating fitness setback.

His return date has not been confirmed.

14. Asafo Aumua – Concussion

Aumua was unavailable for the Sydney Test due to concussion.

The hooker must pass the required medical checks before returning.

15. Anton Segner – Concussion

Segner was also ruled out of the second Bledisloe Cup Test.

The loose forward was listed as unavailable due to concussion.

His return depends on medical clearance.

16. Fehi Fineanganofo – Hamstring

Fineanganofo suffered a hamstring injury while playing for Bay of Plenty.

He also sustained a concussion in the same match.

The Newcastle Red Bulls-bound winger faces a race to regain full fitness.

Two more recent injury concerns

17. Billy Proctor – Shoulder

Proctor suffered a fractured shoulder blade during the South Africa tour.

His initial recovery period was estimated at four to six weeks.

That could put him in contention for November, although his fitness needs confirming.

18. Patrick Tuipulotu – Calf

The experienced lock was unavailable for the Bledisloe Cup squad due to a calf injury.

His recovery will be watched closely before Rennie names his northern tour squad.

When do the All Blacks play next?

New Zealand face a tough trip north, with Nations Championship matches against Scotland, Wales and England in November.

The All Blacks will then take part in the Nations Championship Finals Weekend in London.

Rennie has already shown he can cope without several established stars.

But with six players definitely out and others facing fitness tests, his next squad announcement could make interesting reading.
