Speaking to DAZN, Harry Kane admitted he was "a little nervous" after arriving at the Ballon d'Or ceremony.
One of the leading contenders for the 2026 men's Ballon d'Or award, Bayern Munich star Harry Kane spoke to DAZN after arriving at the ceremony in London on Monday evening.
“I am a little nervous, I cannot lie. It is different to a match as it is out of my control. It is a special occasion and I am trying to take it all in. Hopefully, it will be a special night," Kane said.
The 33-year-old has put himself among the favourites alongside Real Madrid's Kylian Mbappé and FC Barcelona's Lamine Yamal after scoring a sensational 61 goals in 51 appearances for Bayern Munich last season.
“There is always more you can do. Last season was definitely my best. There are always highs and lows. For me personally I was extremely proud to reach the numbers I did over the last year. It has been truly incredible,” Kane said.
With the ceremony about to begin, Kane is naturally hoping to take home the prestigious award.
“It could be a really special evening. I am up there with the best players in the world, players who have had amazing seasons and have an argument to win it. No-one knows who is going to come out on top. From my point of view, I will try and enjoy it as it is out of my control,” he said.
