Cambridge United boss Neil Harris said he was disappointed his side did not come away with three points despite maintaining their unbeaten away record this season with a 1-1 draw at Sheffield Wednesday.
Sullay Kaikai's powerful finish cancelled out Mason Burstow's opener to grab a point for the U's at Hillsborough.
Oxford United's victory over Stockport meant Harris' side dropped out of the top six but he was proud of the performance in front of over 1,000 travelling supporters who had made the journey to South Yorkshire on Tuesday night.
Cambridge have now picked up 10 points from a possible 18 so far on the road following last season's promotion from League Two.
"You can see the smile on my face and I thought we acquitted ourselves really well. It took them [Wednesday] 22 minutes to have a touch in our penalty area," Harris told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.
"It shows how good we are at the start and how much we responded from Saturday. Our only disappointment was we were not 3-0 up at the time because we should have been.
"Ultimately, the changing room is disappointed that we didn't win the game at the end.
"The last two visits here for our football club have ended in 5-0 and 6-0 defeats at this level. Tonight was another step in the right direction for us."
Cambridge will look to extend their impressive run when they visit Leyton Orient on Saturday.
