Romano: Another renewal and two targets – the moves for Milan after Pulisic’s extension

AC Milan are looking to build on their derby win and surge up the table, while the management continue to plan for the future.

Important developments came in the past few days, starting with the renewal of Christian Pulisic’s contract until 2031 which was made official on Friday, the day before he opened the scoring against Inter with a header.

On the night of the game, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that an agreement in principle had been reached with Markus Krösche to become the new Head of Football. It also seems that the extension of Adrien Rabiot – another derby hero – isn’t far away either.

Romano gave an update last night in a video on his YouTube channel, explaining what the planned moves are for Milan during what is a potentially decisive stage in their project.

“There’s work to be done and construction to be done, even in terms of contracts. The next player to be renewed will be Rabiot. AC Milan is working hard on this signing. Rabiot is the symbol of AC Milan’s intelligent operations. The club wants to secure him,” he said (via MilanNews).

“Then there’s the transfer market. Milan wants to present themselves with confidence. The defender they didn’t sign in the summer could arrive in January. I mentioned Gonçalo Inacio’s name last week and I’ll continue to mention it.

“He remains a highly sought-after player. There are other options, but the defender is a key issue for Milan. It won’t end here. I expect a move in attack, and Milan will certainly do something other than the defender.”
