Sam Fender confirms 2027 gig at St James' Park as part of huge stadium tour as fans go wild

Sam Fender sent fans wild at 5pm on Monday with a video reveal of a 2027 stadium tour which featured St James' Park

After a not so subtle hint at the weekend that he'd be back there, it's now been confirmed that Sam Fender will return to St James' Park next year. And the Lord of the Rings video to reveal his new stadium tour has sent fans wild.

While Newcastle's 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa at SJP on Saturday made for dire viewing for United supporters, there was something to get excited about, as messages reading: 'Proper Massive SF 27' appeared by the side of the pitch and on a screen inside the ground. Fans were urged to sign up for latest updates via Sam's website and there was a big bit of breaking news at 5pm on Monday, when a video was shared to his Instagram grid, featuring him and members of his band dressed like characters from Lord of the Rings.

The Oscar-worthy clip captioned: 'The Beacons Are Lit!' began with Dean and Joe inside St James' Park, before flames were then seen shooting out of the top of the famous stadium and others across the country, including the Etihad in Manchester, Cardiff, Murrayfield in Edinburgh and Wembley.

Dates have yet to be revealed for any of the gigs, with people once again urged to sign up at Sam's website and it took no time at all for comments to flood in on the post, as one fan replied: 'best video campaign ever' and another reacting: 'HE’S COMING HOME. HE’S COMING HOME. FENDERS COMING HOME.'

Sam was last at St James' park in June 2025, having played two sold out shows at the ground two years earlier. Last year, the number of concerts was increased to three, with over 150,000 people packing out SJP over the course of the three nights, as Sam was joined on stage by Easington Colliery Band, Olivia Dean, CMAT and surprise guest Dan Burn, as the Newcastle defender walked on stage with the Carabao Cup during the final show, after being in the crowd for night one.
