Everyone is now awaiting the final outcome of this Manchester City verdict and what comes at the end of it all.

Liverpool have been at the heart of these charges because they finished as runners-up to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City on several occasions during their years of cheating.

Many want Man City relegated, including Liverpool supporters, as Paul Scholes has also stated he wants his titles from the time his neighbours cost Manchester United the Premier League title.

But more interestingly, when Scholes was asked where certain Man City players could land if they were relegated, he backed Marc Guehi to move across to Merseyside.

Paul Scholes backs Marc Guehi to join Liverpool from ‘relegated’ Manchester City

There will be parties in the streets of Liverpool, and across other footballing cities in England, if Man City get what they deserve at the end of this.

But their supporters might not just suffer relegation, but also lose all their star players, from goalscoring machine Erling Haaland to defensive machine Guehi.

Speaking on The Good, The Bad and The Football’s TikTok channel, several Man City players were put forward to Scholes, and he asked who he thought they would sign for.

  • Erling Haaland – Real Madrid
  • Elliott Anderson – Barcelona
  • Gianluigi Donnarumma – Real Madrid
  • Enzo Fernandez – Real Madrid
  • Jeremy Doku – Arsenal
  • Rayan Cherki – Arsenal
  • Nico O’Riley – Arsenal
  • Marc Guehi – Liverpool

Would Guehi start for Liverpool?

For a very long time, Liverpool fans wanted Guehi at Anfield, but after so many transfer links and rumours, he ended up at the Etihad last January.

There were many periods last season when Liverpool fans would have bitten your hand off for a player like Guehi, and they would have thrown him straight into the starting XI alongside Virgil van Dijk.

But certain things have now changed under the stewardship of Andoni Iraola and his rising centre-back Jeremy Jacquet.

One thing is for sure: Guehi doesn’t start ahead of the untouchable Virgil van Dijk, while it wouldn’t be a surprise if many supporters now prefer Jacquet, his current form and potential over the England international.

This is what the numbers say about the duo in their respective colours this season:

  • Jacquet’s PL games: 7
  • Clean sheets: 3
  • Goals conceded: 8
  • Interceptions per game: 2.1
  • Tackles per game: 2.6
  • Dribbled past per game: 0.3
  • Penalties committed: 0
  • Sofascore rating: 7.47
  • Guehi’s PL games: 7
  • Clean sheets: 3
  • Goals conceded: 7
  • Interceptions per game: 0.4
  • Tackles per game: 0.6
  • Dribbled past per game: 0.3
  • Penalties committed: 0
  • Sofascore rating: 7.47
