Lionel Messi remains the major commercial phenomenon of the Major League Soccer. The Argentine once again topped the ranking of the most popular jerseys in the league in the United States and reached a milestone that confirms his enormous impact since arriving at Inter Miami.
The new ranking for the 2026 season brought some interesting changes and confirmed that the appeal of Inter Miami's captain remains above that of other stars in world football. It is no small detail: Messi managed to hold on to first place for the fourth consecutive season.
Behind the Argentine is Son Heung-Min, from Los Angeles FC, while Thomas Müller, currently at Vancouver Whitecaps, rounds out the podium. Fourth place went to Robert Lewandowski, who arrived at Chicago Fire in June, and Antoine Griezmann, from Orlando City, occupies fifth place.
However, the case of the Polish forward has one particular detail: since his arrival in MLS, his jersey has been the best-selling in the entire competition. Although he did not manage to surpass Messi in the overall balance for the year, his commercial impact was immediate.
The Florida team also managed to stand out for the number of players included in the ranking. In addition to Messi, Luis Suárez appears in eighth place and Rodrigo De Paul occupies tenth position. In this way, Inter Miami is the club with the greatest representation among the top ten.
Cavan Sullivan, the Philadelphia Union midfielder, just 17 years old, reached sixth place and became the only American present among the ten most popular.
The list was topped by Lionel Messi, followed by Son Heung-Min and Thomas Müller. Robert Lewandowski placed fourth, and Antoine Griezmann rounded out the top five.
The top spot is also explained by his spectacular current footballing form. Messi remains one of Inter Miami’s biggest stars, and his influence within the team goes beyond the results: every appearance, every goal, and every performance fuels fans’ interest in getting his jersey. That connection with the American public continues to be one of the main drivers of his commercial impact.
From sixth to tenth place are Cavan Sullivan, Denis Bouanga, Luis Suárez, Hany Mukhtar, and Rodrigo De Paul, respectively.
The ranking was compiled based on adidas jersey sales made on MLSstore.com between January 1 and October 30, 2026. In addition, four world champions appear on the list: Messi and De Paul for Argentina; Griezmann for France; and Müller for Germany.
