FC Bayern has set off for Madrid. On Monday, the German record champions held their final training session ahead of their Champions League match against Atlético. Manuel Neuer and Michael Olise were also in attendance.

In total, the Bayern squad for the Champions League match against Atlético Madrid consists of 19 players. This includes Manuel Neuer and Michael Olise. Neuer had recently been sidelined with a foot injury. Olise had to be substituted due to injury during the classic match against Dortmund.

Both took part in the final training session this morning and are now traveling to Madrid with the team.

Before departure, sporting director Max Eberl commented on the squad situation. Regarding Michael Olise, the club plans to wait and see how he progresses. “We’ll take a closer look at Michael Olise again tomorrow. We’re taking it day by day,” Eberl explained.

The Bayern boss views the fact that the Frenchman has traveled to Madrid as generally positive. “It’s positive that he’s in the squad.” At the same time, Eberl made it clear that the club does not want to take any unnecessary risks.

No final decision has been made regarding Manuel Neuer either. “Manuel Neuer was out for quite some time; he’s been training. We’ll see,” said Eberl. This means it remains unclear whether the goalkeeper will be fit enough to play against Atlético.

Several players out for FC Bayern

Among those who did not travel to Madrid are Jamal Musiala, Luis Díaz, Serge Gnabry, and Ismael Saibari. While Musiala and Díaz continue to work toward their comebacks, Gnabry is sidelined with a muscle injury in the back of his thigh. Saibari is also out after tearing his syndesmosis.

FC Bayern will therefore need to make the best possible use of their remaining options. The lineups featuring Neuer and Olise, in particular, are likely to be the focus of attention right up until kickoff. The match against Atlético takes place on Tuesday evening at 9 p.m.
