Wallasey and District Sunday Football League round-up, 18 October 2026

The Capitol Cup 1st round took centre stage and saw plenty of goals and a few upsets, plus penalty shoot-outs deciding two of the fixtures.

Shore Villa Argyle led for a long time thanks to Jordan McAteer opening the scoring, but Jack Barrow levelled matters at 1-1 for Liscard Brazil, to send the game to a spot-kick decider, which Liscard won 4-3 to progress in the competition.

Bronze Wallasey Wanderers were also taken to penalties due to Joey Robinson grabbing a very late equaliser for NB The Tide FC in a great 2-2 encounter that also saw Frankie Ward score for the Tide. They then won the tie 3-1 as they were more clinical from the spot.

FC Greasby beat 1 st division rivals PLCCFC 4-0 as Dylan Sharpe fired a fine hat-trick, with Paddy Killen completing the scoring against their higher-grade opponents.

CV FC won a feisty affair versus Great Float FC as Matty Swannick, Zack Eachus and Sean Mooney netted in this 3-2 success, with Logan Lynchy and Ethan McEnore bagging the replies.
