Time for another.
The plethora of games we are currently undertaking sees the Hatters back on the road this weekend.
After consecutive home games against Barnsley, Leicester City and Doncaster Rovers, three games that harvested the Hatters a maximum of 9 points, we now make the relatively short trip, up the A1, to take on a Peterborough United side managed by the former Welsh international, Robbie Savage.
As is the norm before each game, so far this season, I have taken the opportunity to revamp a previous ‘They Played for Both’ article.
Surprisingly, I discovered there were far more players who have been on the books of both clubs than I imagined.
But after much deliberation I have come up with the following starting XI (plus substitute):
Goalkeeper – Ian Feuer
Defender – Sol Davis
Defender – Alan Sheehan
Defender – Paul Price
Defender – Claude Gnapka
Midfield – Alan Slough
Midfield – George Moncur
Midfield – Pasquale Fuccillo
Forward – David Pleat
Forward – Craig Mackail-Smith
Forward – Jack Marriott
Substitute – Liam Hatch
But like I said there were so many others that fitted the criteria, including a host of goalkeepers:
I’m sure that there are many of you, reading this, who would make a case for Jake Findlay, Mark Tyler or Tony Read to be preferred to my choice, Ian Feuer.
There are also several outfield players that fitted the criteria:
Would you have included any of the above in preference to my selections?
Indeed, is there anyone out there who, as is often the case, I have inadvertently omitted?
Please feel free to have your say in the comment facility beneath this article.
Hopefully the response will exceed the others this ongoing series has generated.
