Oliver Baumann, according to RTL/Sky's sources, is not considering an imminent retirement from the Germany national team.

In an interview with 'RTL/Sky', the TSG Hoffenheim number one made it clear that he intends to try and catch Jürgen Klopp's eye:

“I haven't closed the door [on the German national team]. And that's why I'm not retiring. I'm trying to perform – as always.

"I'm trying to play at a level that allows me to be considered for the national team I'm personally in a situation where I think I can help a team

“Including a national team in general, I feel fit enough to help a national team. And then I'll leave the decision to the coach,” he added.

Putting some perspective on things, during the first international break, the TSG Hoffenheim veteran was not selected by Klopp.

Baumann, however, evidently still believes in his chances and seems to suggest he has what it takes to bolster Klopp's squad.
