Miffed O'Neill bites back in Celtic BBC interview exchange

The Parkhead boss appeared to take exception to the wording of one question before a spiky response to a second.

Celtic fell to a 2-0 loss, with Ethan Ross and Scott Tanser netting, while former Parkhead goalkeeper Scott Bain was outstanding in the Falkirk goal.

After the match, O'Neill was asked how he felt after a 'defeat like that', to which the manager did not take kindly.

He said: "It was a defeat. I don't know what you mean by a defeat like that. We created a lot of chances in the game.

"Where you're right, is that every single time we lose a game, we come under scrutiny. And so we should; the club is used to winning."

O'Neill was then grilled on his team selection as he Haissem Hassan, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Cameron Carter-Vickers came into the starting XI.

He said: "Inconsistent selection? What do you mean by that?

"Why would you not change the team? We have an abundance of games, we're playing European football, we're trying to hold the Scottish flag up at the end of it all.

"We've gone Thursday, Sunday, Wednesday, Sunday, for quite some considerable time. So it's hard for the same players to play every single week. Did that explain it to you?"
