Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard will ‘fit in very well’ at Bayern Munich after the Premier League winners left the door open for a sale.
The Norway international has been a key figure under Mikel Arteta over the years. The Gunners initially signed him on loan from Real Madrid in January 2021 and made his stay permanent later that year.
Last season, the midfielder struggled with multiple injuries. Despite this, he still managed a goal and eight assists in 36 matches.
His fitness has improved a lot this season as Ødegaard featured in every fixture. He has four goals and an assist after 1,083 minutes from 15 matches.
On October 30th, Sport Witness covered a report from Germany explaining that Bayern Munich are keen. The north London club’s plan is to extend his contract beyond 2028. Arsenal are open to selling him next summer if he were to refuse to sign an extension.
Former Norwegian attacker Eivind Bisgaard Sundet now commentates Bundesliga matches for Viaplay.

Dagbladet got in touch with him to get his views on the possibility of Martin Ødegaard joining Vincent Kompany’s side.
Bundesliga clubs have four fewer matches than in the Premier League as there are 18 teams in the top flight. This means that the 27-year-old will have more rest if he were to move to Germany.
Eivind Bisgaard Sundet points this and another factor as two key conditions that should encourage the Arsenal star to move to the Allianz Arena.
When Dagbladet asked how Martin Ødegaard would fit in at Bayern Munich, he said: “I think Bayern would have been a very good fit.”
“He’d be heavily involved. Playing in German football is a bit less gruelling than in English football. There are slightly fewer matches, you get more time to recover, and Bayern are a more dominant side than Arsenal are in England. You’d have more possession.”
The commentator is confident that Bayern Munich would be a good step for the former Real Madrid man.
