Bromsgrove Sporting to hold special Remembrance match

The club's home game against Leiston on Saturday, November 7, will be its Remembrance match, with people connected to the armed forces invited onto the pitch before kick-off.

Players from the club's Ladies, Colts, Girls, U18s and U21s teams will also take part in the commemoration, which will include a two-minute silence and a rendition of The Last Post.

To support the Royal British Legion, the club's board will donate £1 for every spectator attending the match.

The following day, Bromsgrove Sporting will join the town's Remembrance parade, which will set off from the High Street at 10.40am.

The procession will make its way to the Crown Close War Memorial, where a service will take place from 10.50am.

Following the two-minute silence at 11am, a representative from the club will lay a wreath in remembrance for those who died.

The Sporting Bar will open on Sunday, offering hot drinks from 9am and complimentary soup to visitors from 11.30am.

From 2pm onwards the Crystal Palace versus Liverpool, followed by Manchester Utd versus Aston Villa matches will be showing the Sporting Bar.
