Dystany Spurlock will be featured at more races in the 2027 season.

The 34-year-old Spurlock made history by being the first Black woman to race in any of NASCAR's three national touring series, debuting at Dover in the Craftsman Truck Series. She also made history as the first Black woman to race in the ARCA Menards Series East and Menards Series as a whole.

After driving in 12 total ARCA Menards Series races in 2026, it has been announced that the trailblazer will have a new schedule in 2027 with Alpha Prime Racing (APR), which will see her in five more races.

On Wednesday, the team announced that Spurlock will join Alpha Prime Racing to drive the No. 44 Ford Mustang as part of a comprehensive 2027 ARCA Menard Series driver development program. The star's planned program will be built around a flexible 17-race schedule, with preseason preparation and testing at Daytona.

In an effort to accelerate her development, Spurlock will also receive coaching and race preparation in line with the team's O'Reilly Auto Parts Series operation. In a statement, Jusan Hamilton, the President of Alpha Prime Racing, noted that Spurlock is "exactly the type of driver" they wanted to build their ARCA program around.

"She has the talent, ambition and willingness to do the work, and Chris Harris and Foxxtecca share our belief that development must be more than simply putting a driver in a race car," the statement read in part. "We are building a complete program around preparation, coaching, testing, competition and professional growth.

"We are excited to welcome Dystany and Foxxtecca into the Alpha Prime family and begin this next chapter together."

Spurlock, in a statement released by the team, expressed her eagerness to join Alpha Prime Racing in 2027 to continue evolving as a driver while pursuing her dream of becoming a full-time NASCAR driver. "I'm looking forward to continuing my development as a driver, both on and off the track," her statement read in part.

"[Alpha Prime Racing team owner] Tommy Joe [Martins] and Jusan are amazing individuals who believe in me, and I can't wait to see what great things we will accomplish together this season."

This is just the latest in what has been a whirlwind year for Spurlock. Considering her historic 2026, the star said that the main message she will bring into the new year is simple: "Be authentically you and your people will find you."

"But the people who are supposed to be in your corner and have your back, they will find you. And that's all you need at the end of the day."
