Following swiftly on from Saturday’s 3-1 defeat at South Shields, the Blues are straight back in action with this evening’s home clash against Marine.
Manager Parkinson knows the quality he has at his disposal and he’s looking for players to make their mark in the ranks.
He told Chester FC TV: “I felt the lads’ effort deserved that (something from South Shields).
“I think that’s why I’m so angry. I think the lads deserved more than they got... and for a young group, I know there’s sprinkles of experience in there.
“They’re learning some really tough lessons, but we need them to learn them quicker and as I keep saying, I’ve been saying it the last couple of weeks, realise their potential, because there’s so much potential in that group and when they actually understand how strong they are and how good they are, and that they can compete with these players, and I think they do believe that.
“But, they’ve got to want it even more. Want to win even more and that’s hard to quantify, and you can’t coach that.
“You’ve either got that or you’ve not. But, they certainly know from me that I expect far more from them when we come to a place like this, because we can’t be coming and being alright with getting beat 3-1 away at South Shields.
“It’s Chester. It’s not good enough for us. The group that I’ve put together, I believe should be able to come here and get a result.”
