The Titans said they will have “no further comment on the matter”
The Tennessee Titans have abruptly released defensive tackle Jordan Elliott following an “incident” at the team’s facilities last week.
According to ESPN, head coach Robert Saleh told reporters on Friday, Oct. 16 that Elliott, 28, would not participate in practice because he was “dealing with personal stuff.”
On Tuesday, Oct. 20, the Titans announced they’ve parted ways with Elliott. In a statement to ESPN, the Titans said, “On Thursday, October 15, there was an incident at our team facility involving Jordan Elliott. Following our review of the incident, we have made the decision to release Elliott from our roster.”
The team said they will “have no further comment on the matter.”

Elliott did not travel with the team to Indianapolis for their 26-20 win over the Colts on Sunday, Oct. 18.
A source close to the team told ESPN the decision to cut Elliott was “universally agreed upon” by all parties, and that the league is aware of the situation.
Elliott was selected in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns. Before joining the Titans, he played two seasons with the San Francisco 49ers.
