The Indianapolis Colts attempted to add a familiar face at defensive tackle but missed out.
On Wednesday, the Las Vegas Raiders waived defensive tackle Jonah Laulu, and the Colts were one of at least six teams to put in a claim on him, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz.
However, the Titans ended up landing Laulu. The way the waiver system works is if multiple teams put in a claim, the team with the worst record is awarded that player.
The Colts drafted Laulu in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft but released him during roster cutdowns in August of that year. He then immediately landed with the Raiders, where he has played until now.
During his two-plus seasons, Laulu has played 1,348 defensive snaps, totaling 40 pressures and 89 total tackles.
The Colts' attempt to bolster their defensive tackle depth comes after trading away DeForest Buckner.
