Ayyoub Bouaddi enjoyed his full Premier League debut for Manchester City.
The Morocco midfielder was signed for £86.5 million from LOSC Lille, and he came onto the pitch at Selhurst Park as a second half substitute in a 4-1 win over Crystal Palace at the end of August.
Having impressed in a 2-0 victory over Porto and as an extra midfield presence in a 4-2 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in his two Champions League games, he finally got his first league start.
Bouaddi let Enzo Maresca manage minutes in the engine room, bringing out Elliot Anderson from the pivot position as the teenager sat next to Mateo Kovacic. He helped the Citizens to take a seventh successive Premier League victory against Ipswich Town as the side stayed at the top of the table.
“It was really good. I’m really happy because we won the game. Of course everything is good. It was a really tough game against a really good team in Ipswich. They put us in trouble in the second half. We won the game and we were really happy with that.
“Of course I was really happy. It’s football, I really like to play the game. I want to play every game. But I know it’s part of the process and I was really happy with the game today.
“Of course, you have a bit of pressure. You don’t want them to score again, but we managed it really well. And yes, we were really happy with it.
“It’s easier to play [with the quality of these players], even if sometimes you play a bad pass, they can manage everything. They make it successful, so it is a huge player to play with players like this.
“Everyone is an important player and we all want to play well all of the time."
