Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur has confirmed that he held talks with Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc about their racing 'guidelines' after last weekend's Mexico Grand Prix flashpoint.
Hamilton was left fuming after being pushed off track by team-mate Charles Leclerc on the opening lap at Mexico City, dropping him from the lead into third place, and was grumbling ominously both during and after the race.
Vasseur revealed that they didn't have the conversation for a few days after the race due to him having to fly back to Europe post-Mexico, but he insisted that the talk 'went well' and that everyone involved is turning the page.
He also spoke about the 'guidelines' the Ferrari pair are racing under, which the Frenchman said is simply: respect your team-mate, and respect the team.
Speaking at Interlagos this week, Vasseur said: "We did it yesterday evening because I had to fly back to Europe between the two races, but it went well. It was good to discuss, good to clarify my position and their position, that was good to do. And now we turn the page, and we are focused on the next one."
He added that there were no changes made to the team's philosophy as a result of Mexico, saying: "The guidelines are still the same, but I think they accumulated perhaps a bit of frustration because they are starting each weekend side by side.
"But at the end of the day, the guidelines are always the same, is that they need to respect each other, that there are two competitors with the fighting spirit, for sure, but they need to have respect for the other one.
"But mainly and firstly, they need to respect the brand, the team, the people working at home, the people working on track. I think we are putting a lot of effort into this, and the message was clear."
