Celtic AGM Date Set to be Announced

Celtic supporters will finally learn when the club’s 2026 annual general meeting will be held.

The previous AGM, held at Celtic Park in November 2025, was brought to a premature end, with fans voicing their disapproval at how it was orchestrated.

Ross Desmond read a lengthy statement from a piece of paper on behalf of the board and his father, Dermot, which was met with clear frustration.

Peter Lawwell then brought proceedings to an end, leaving far more questions than answers.

With tensions between some sections of the support and the club hierarchy boiling over once again, a date for this year’s meeting was unclear.

Martin O’Neill has now confirmed that it’s due to take place next month. According to SunSport, the plan is for an in-person meeting to be held as usual.

Speaking about the plans, O’Neill said:

“That’s early December, isn’t it, so it’s not that long away.

“So I would expect to be at it as a manager, so if given an opportunity to answer some of the things – and if they want to hear from the manager – I would have no problem.

“I hope it’s similar to what Monday night was in terms of the questions and fairness, and not falling into what it was last year.”

It was confirmed earlier this week that O’Neill, along with interim chairman Brian Wilson, chief executive Michael Nicholson and chief financial officer Chris McKay, met with around 120 supporters at a Greenock Supporters’ Club to answer questions.

O’Neill said difficult questions were asked, though there have been no official minutes of the meeting released.

Many fans have been waiting for an official date for the club to properly communicate with shareholders, and while a specific one has yet to be revealed, it’s set to be around a month away.

There have been calls for Dermot Desmond to attend his first AGM in over two decades, though whether that happens remains to be seen.
