Kimi Antonelli has been made to wait for his world championship trophy despite winning the title in Mexico.
The Italian made history by becoming the youngest-ever world champion at 20 years and 68 days, after finishing on the podium at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.
The Italian won nine races in a dominant campaign, and his third-place finish in Mexico extended his title lead to a staggering 119 points.
Antonelli intends to race with the number 12 still next season, which is associated with racing icon Ayrton Senna.
He said: "I'll stay with number 12 because obviously it's a very special number for me, but also it's a way for me to stay grounded, to stay humble.
"I feel like by keeping number 12, it allows me to have a new point where to start and build on everything again and try to improve."
