King’s Lynn Town extended their remarkable 55-year unbeaten league record at Edgar Street with a stunning 3-0 victory over National League North high-flyers Hereford.
Kwame Thomas struck twice in the opening 15 minutes as the Linnets bounced back from their midweek drubbing at Worksop in emphatic fashion.
It was a memorable return to his former club for manager Paul Caddis, whose side made a dream start to silence the home faithful.
Thomas fired Lynn ahead from the penalty spot after just 12 minutes, then doubled the visitors’ advantage three minutes later with a header into the far post.
Hereford threatened to find a way back into the contest before the interval, but goalkeeper Ronnie Hollingshead produced a stunning save in first-half stoppage time to preserve the Linnets’ two-goal cushion.
The Linnets continued to threaten after the break, with Jesse Nwabueze coming agonisingly close to a third when his thunderous 25-yard effort crashed off the crossbar.
But the visitors did not have to wait much longer to put the result beyond doubt.
Captain Michael Clunan turned provider in the 65th minute, setting up full-back Aaron Jones to seal a superb three points for Caddis and his players.
The win moved Lynn back up to sixth in the league standings.
