Philadelphia Eagles star tight end Dallas Goedert won a pass interference penalty in bizarre fashion after a Carolina Panthers defensive back had to resort to an extreme level to stop him
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert had his pants pulled down and his bare behind exposed during their game against the Carolina Panthers.
The tight end got himself loose on rookie defensive back Will Lee III, who grabbed at Goedert's pants as he looked to get open on a corner route in the end zone. Quarterback Tanner McKee targeted Goedert, who was unable to make the catch, his backside exposed, but Lee III was called for defensive pass interference.
The penalty led to a touchdown run by running back Dameon Pierce, who is starting in place of Saquon Barkley after the Eagles sustained almost a dozen key injuries. Philadelphia also signed Dallas Cowboys quarterback Joe Milton II this week.
Fans could not believe what they saw as Lee III covered Goedert, as one said, "Dallas Goedert just had his WHOLE A--- out on live TV," while another commented, "Dallas Goedert got VIOLATED."
A third fan posted the image while writing, "That's one way to stop Dallas Goedert," as a fourth posted, "Will Lee really had Dallas Goedert show full moon, and they called it a dpi I can‘t do this anymore."
It has been a wild few weeks for the Eagles, who have seen star right tackle Lane Johnson retire during the season, before trading away center Cam Jurgens.
This came after they lost Saquon Barkley to injury and before Jalen Hurts was ruled out indefinitely after being found to have a blood clot in his leg.
When asked about the recent period the team has gone through, offensive tackle Jordan Mailata told reporters, “I don’t even know. My brain hurts. This week has been a week from hell for me. I’m just trying to look internally to see how I contributed to this loss so I can correct it. We weren’t good enough. We know that.”
Despite the Eagles' losing record and being set to be without Hurts, they are said to be unlikely to trade away superstar running back Barkley — unless a big offer were to come in.
The Seattle Seahawks, Minnesota Vikings, and Jacksonville Jaguars have all been linked with a trade for Barkley, who could cost as much as a second-round pick to acquire him.
Hurts has been placed on the injured reserve, meaning he will be out for at least the next four games, but could miss much more time, with his return date not yet known.
