Murphy steps down as Loughgall manager

The news follows a 3-0 home defeat by league leaders Annagh United which means the side have now won just four of 14 Championship matches this campaign.

Murphy took charge of Loughgall in March 2025 on a three-year contract and led the side to a sixth place finish last season.

"Loughgall Football Club can confirm that Darren Murphy has stepped down as first team manager for personal reasons," a statement from the club on social media read.

"The current back room staff will continue on a caretaker basis until the recruitment process has been completed.

"We thank Darren for his effort and professionalism and we wish him the very best for the future."

Loughgall, who sit 10th on 17 points, now face Dundela on Saturday, 7 November at Wilgar Park.
