Harry Kane is officially the best player in the world.

The 33-year-old was crowned the winner of the prestigious Ballon d'Or on Monday night following a spectacular 25/26 season that saw him plunder an astonishing 73 goals for club and country. 61 came in the red of Bayern Munich, with 12 more coming for England - including seven at the World Cup in North America.

Kylian Mbappe, Lamine Yamal, Ousmane Dembele and Michael Olise were also in contention for the game's greatest individual gong. But it was Kane who came out on top, becoming the first English player to clinch the award since Michael Owen in 2001.

It is a crowning moment for one of the game's modern-day greats. Kane is one of the standout players of his generation, a goalscoring, goal-making force of nature. He was already outstanding when he left Tottenham for Bayern in 2023. After three years in Germany, he has ascended to the level of the Gods.
