Kobbie Mainoo And Matthijs De Ligt To Start; Lisandro Martinez Dropped: Man Utd Predicted Lineup Vs Roma
Kobbie Mainoo And Matthijs De Ligt To Start; Lisandro Martinez Dropped: Man Utd Predicted Lineup Vs Roma

Man Utd head coach Michael Carrick desperately needs a win, but his team will be facing a Roma side in very good form on Tuesday night.

The Giallorossi were 4-0 up inside the first 37 minutes against Udinese at the weekend, and they won’t be coming to Old Trafford with any fear.

United have not won since they beat Sabah in the Champions League over seven weeks ago, and bookmakers will not be putting short odds on them ending their winless streak in this match.

Press the next page as we share our Man Utd predicted lineup to face Roma…

Goalkeeper and Defence

Leny Yoro

GK – Senne Lammens – that Sabah game is the only clean sheet the Belgian has kept all season.

RB – Diogo Dalot – the Portuguese defender could be switched to a more familiar flank against Roma.

CB – Leny Yoro – Carrick may consider using the 20-year-old in his favoured position for once.

CB – Matthijs de Ligt – the Dutchman may have struggled against Como, but he needs minutes to get up to speed. Lisandro Martinez is available as his one-match suspension is for domestic fixtures only, but he could be dropped regardless by Carrick.

LB – Noussair Mazraoui – if Luke Shaw is still unavailable, the Moroccan could fill in on the left-hand side of defence.

Midfield

Bruno Fernandes

CM – Andrey Santos – neither the Brazilian nor Carlos Baleba played well against Chelsea, but one will keep their place for the Roma fixture. We’ve opted for Santos.

CM – Kobbie Mainoo – the midfielder should be fit to start after coming on as a substitute at Stamford Bridge.

AM – Bruno Fernandes – the captain is a shadow of his former self, but he still poses more of a threat than Mason Mount.

If Fernandes can find a bit of form, it could be enough for United to end this dreadful run.

Forwards

Amad and Noussair Mazraoui

RW – Amad – the Ivorian is always lively, but it is hard to overlook how poor his finishing is. Yet, Carrick will continue to pick him.

ST – Bryan Mbeumo – not clinical enough against Chelsea, but United fans will be hoping he finds his shooting boots versus Roma.

LW – Matheus Cunha – the Brazilian had a goal ruled out at the weekend, and he did look sharp in the first half before Chelsea took control. Carrick will want more of the same on Tuesday evening.
