Manchester United and Arsenal are monitoring the progress of one of Newcastle’s summer signings who is already attracting interest despite barely featuring for the Matthias Jaissle’s side so far.

Newcastle spent more than €300 million on eight players during a transformative summer, with the majority of their signings being young prospects from abroad who are still adapting to life in the Premier League.

One of those players was Bazoumana Toure, who joined the Magpies for €50m after an impressive season for Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga as well as for the Ivory Coast at the Africa Cup of Nations and the 2026 World Cup.

But, despite his rapid rise in the last year, Toure has yet to make a Premier League start for Newcastle, although he has scored twice in all competitions and looked bright in cameos off the bench, prompting some of England’s top clubs to take notice.

TEAMtalk have confirmed reports from earlier this week which claimed that Man Utd and Arsenal, as well as Aston Vill and Tottenham, are keeping tabs on Toure after already scouting him extensively last season.

No formal approach would be made until next summer, if at all, while Newcastle have no desire to part ways with a player who they are adamant will become a long-term part of their project even if he has yet to showcase his full potential at the club.

Bazoumana Toure: Man Utd and Arsenal tracking Newcastle winger

Toure played most of his minutes as a left-footed left winger for Hoffenheim last season, grabbing five goals and nine assists, while he also scored three goals in ten games for the Ivory Coast after making his international debut in September last year.

Newcastle have largely fielded Toure from the bench on the right flank and Jaissle insisted last month that the youngster was merely suffering from Harvey Barnes’ bright start to the season, with both players preferring to play on the left.

“With Baz, it's really clear. He's a young lad,” Jaissle said. “You see the steps in training. He's really committed. But Harvey is performing at a high level, so sometimes you get less playing time.”

Even with his limited gametime this season, Toure’s pace, work rate and ability on the ball have been apparent and the young versatile forward would prove a standout signing for United or Arsenal, according to data analytics firm SciSports.

SciSports figures believe that Toure could develop into a key player for United, far exceeding the ability of Bryan Mbeumo or Matheus Cunha, with the Old Trafford side likely to be able to offer the 20-year-old more game time than Arsenal.

Toure would perhaps be more of a prospect bench option for Arsenal but the winger is in a similar mould to Bukayo Saka and could become near the England international's level with the right progress.

However, Newcastle would demand a fee far greater than the €50m they paid for Toure, particularly after tying him to a five-year contract but, with interest also emerging from Germany, the Magpies could face a fight to keep hold of their new star if his development continues.
