Real Madrid monitoring another Liverpool star amid Alexis Mac Allister interest

With Liverpool continuing to rebuild the squad under Andoni Iraola, there could be some potential exits, as Real Madrid continues to monitor a few stars

Real Madrid continues to keep a watchful eye over proceedings at Liverpool, with reports claiming that another star has appeared on the club's radar for a future transfer switch.

It follows an already well-trodden path between Anfield and the Bernabeu from recent summers, which started off with Trent Alexander-Arnold's controversial move to the Spanish capital last year, only to be followed up by Ibrahima Konate's switch this year.

There have since been links arising surrounding a potential move for Alexis Mac Allister, with initial rumors ramping up over the summer when the Argentinian midfielder entered the final two months of his contract at Anfield.

While the 27-year-old has stayed since, stating his commitment to the club, there has been no sign of a new contract extension and further links surrounding a possible switch to La Liga in the months ahead.

It follows a trend of Real Madrid following players who are nearing the end of their contract at Anfield to try and land a cut-price deal, but the latest links are actually the opposite.

According to Spanish media outlet AS, Los Blancos are also following the situation around Victor Munoz, following the winger's move to Liverpool in the summer from Osasuna.

The Spaniard came through the ranks with Real Madrid, showing some impressive signs, but facing difficulty in trying to break into the team, with a forward line that includes the likes of Vinicius Jr., Kylian Mbappe, and Jude Bellingham.

Munoz's move to Osasuna came with the aim of landing more game time, and he did just that, with Liverpool deciding that it was enough of a sample size to make a move. Roughly $46 million was paid to sign the 23-year-old, who has since added an injection of pace and quality in his appearances on Merseyside so far.

With the Spain international having already come through the ranks at Real Madrid, the club is monitoring his situation for a potential return in the future. That is alongside interest in Nico Paz, Jacobo Ramon, and Rafa Marin, with the trio also making their way through the academy.

It's unclear whether the quick winger would consider a return to the Bernabeu or not, but with a contract until 2032, it seems unlikely that Liverpool would consider an exit any time soon.

There is some hope that the positive start from Munoz is only the beginning, with two crucial goals and one assist in eight Premier League appearances so far, as he battles against some high-profile names in the forward departments.

“Once you have a player, you really understand what he gives to the group," Iraola recently said on the summer recruit. "Attitude-wise, I think he is ready to help in whatever position we need him. He is playing right, left, the other day he played right-back.

“I think he is a player with hunger. He hasn’t played professionally in a big club like Liverpool but he has been in the academy of Barcelona, has been in the academy of Real Madrid, has trained with those teams.

"He knows the level that is required in those teams. Also with the national team he is having experience. So, he is a player that is adapting really well, yes.”

It certainly suggests that the Liverpool boss is happy with Munoz, with all thoughts directed towards his future at Anfield, rather than elsewhere.
