Super Bowl champion Cordarrelle Patterson accused of grabbing his wife's hair and bruising her as she claims she feared for her safety during domestic dispute

Former NFL star Cordarrelle Patterson was accused by his wife of leaving her bruised in a domestic dispute.

Patterson's wife told police that Patterson, who won Super Bowl LIII with the New England Patriots, had allegedly grabbed her by her hair and her arm at a home in Tennessee on Saturday, according to an arrest warrant obtained by TMZ.

She alleged to officers he had physically assaulted her, and she feared for her safety and the safety of her children before she called 911, per the warrant.

Consistent with her account of the incident, the responding officer said in the warrant he observed bruising on her left bicep.

Police investigated while the couple were separated and Patterson was taken into custody and booked on a domestic assault charge before being released on a $1,000 bond from Sevier County Jail the same day.

Patterson was pictured grinning in a mugshot taken by police before he was released. The Daily Mail has contacted the Sevierville Police Department for comment.

The four-time Pro Bowl running back and return specialist enjoyed a successful college career after transferring to the University of Tennessee in 2012.

His standout campaign with the Volunteers led to him being selected in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings.

He went on to play for the Oakland Raiders, New England Patriots, Chicago Bears, Atlanta Falcons and Pittsburgh Steelers throughout his NFL career.

Patterson left an indelible mark on the league during his playing career and still holds the NFL record for the longest kickoff return touchdown in NFL history at 109 yards.

He was also the first NFL player to have a 100-yard kickoff return touchdown, a 75-yard touchdown catch, and a 50-yard rushing touchdown in the same season (2013).

He holds the all-time league record for the most kickoff return touchdowns in NFL history with nine scores over his career.

Meanwhile, his nine kickoff return touchdowns are the most in NFL history.

His greatest team achievement came during the 2018 campaign with the New England Patriots, where he played a crucial role in lifting the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

He recorded two receptions for 14 yards, a 38-yard kick return and seven rushing yards as the Patriots defeated the Los Angeles Rams by a score of 13-3.
