Grand Slam of Darts Qualification Race Update: Charlie Manby and Raymond Smith join field with 12 more players to be confirmed
Charlie Manby (3)

Charlie Manby and Raymond Smith have become the latest players to secure places at the 2026 Grand Slam of Darts. Manby earned his spot by winning his first PDC ranking title, while Smith qualified through the ANZ Premier League. That brings the number of confirmed players for the prestigious Wolverhampton event to 36 of 48.

The Grand Slam of Darts will take place at WV Active Aldersley from 14 to 22 November. The field has been expanded to 48 players this year, with the Eric Bristow Trophy and a total prize fund of £1 million up for grabs.

Manby rewarded for first PDC title

Charlie Manby will make his Grand Slam of Darts debut. The 21-year-old Englishman secured his place last week by winning Players Championship 31.

Manby impressed throughout the tournament, beating the likes of Karel Sedlacek, Alan Soutar and Beau Greaves on his way to the final. There, he faced Dutchman Maik Kuivenhoven, who had no answer to the strong display from his English opponent.

Manby claimed his first PDC ranking title with a convincing 8–2 victory. The win also earned him direct entry to the Grand Slam of Darts, meaning he no longer needs to rely on the Tour Card Holder Qualifier.

Raymond Smith wins ANZ Premier League

Raymond Smith can also look forward to making his Grand Slam of Darts debut. The experienced Australian qualified by winning the ANZ Premier League in Brisbane.

Smith was runner-up in the competition last year, but this time he claimed the title. For the second year in a row, he finished top of the regular-season table.

On Finals Night, Smith went on to beat Jonny Tata and Tim Pusey. He not only secured the title, but also earned a place in the Wolverhampton event.

Littler and Van Veen among the contenders

Defending champion and world number one Luke Littler is one of the leading names set to compete next week. Luke Humphries, who qualified by winning the World Grand Prix, is also in the field.

Several other finalists from major televised tournaments have already secured their places. Gian van Veen qualified by reaching the World Darts Championship final, while UK Open finalist James Wade also made the cut. Gerwyn Price earned his spot by reaching the World Matchplay final.

Three-time Grand Slam champion Michael van Gerwen, former finalist Nathan Aspinall and German number one Martin Schindler will also compete.

After a great year, Wessel Nijman, who qualified with two European Tour titles holds a spot. Niels Zonneveld, Jermaine Wattimena, Kevin Doets and Jeffrey de Graaf have also secured places.

Other qualified players include Josh Rock, Luke Woodhouse, Krzysztof Ratajski, Jonny Clayton, Beau Greaves, Chris Dobey, Cameron Menzies, Ryan Searle and Rob Cross.

Twelve places still up for grabs

With 36 players confirmed, twelve places remain available. The final two Players Championship events of the season take place in Leicester this week, giving players another chance to qualify directly.

If either event is won by a player who has already qualified, an additional place will become available through the Tour Card Holder Qualifier.

That qualifier will complete the 48-player field. The line-up for the battle for the Grand Slam title in Wolverhampton, starting on 14 November, will then be set.
