Scottish Premiership: Hibs bottom after defeat; Aberdeen & Kilmarnock win; Utd claim draw
Aberdeen score

Hibernian manager Marink Reedijk tells BBC Scotland: "The summary is individual mistakes. They scored two goals from our individual mistakes.

"We scored a good goal ourselves and had moments to score again but didn't. The game changes if you do so because then Easter Road is behind us, but this didn't happen.

"What I have seen today is a step forward compared to Dundee [United]. That sounds strange, but that is really what I think.

"We took control of the whole match and had some good opportunities, but then we have to score these.

"Yet we keep on stepping forward, we keep on showing that we are brave."

As for being at the bottom of the table, he adds: "It's something I don't want. I also think that, based on the match today, we don't deserve it.

"I'm therefore positive but with a sick feeling in my stomach."

A massive three points for Stephen Robinson and the Dons as they end a barren run at home.

Brad Lyons smashed them in front after two minutes, their first goal at Pittodrie since August. But, after that, St Mirren utterly dominated.

They got a deserved equaliser before the break through Eseola Sule.

But Kevin Nisbet and Ayoub Moloua scored in an improved second half from the home side.

St Mirren have now conceded 11 goals in their last three games and lost five in a row. They played well but have nothing to show for it.

Aberdeen's Ayoub Mouloua (C) celebrates scoring to make it 3-1 with teammates during a William Hill Premiership match between Aberdeen and St. Mirren at Pittodrie Stadium, on October 17, 2026, in Aberdeen, Scotland.

Aberdeen are not looking significantly better on the ball, or more threatening in this second half, but they are pressing St Mirren better and forcing errors from the visitors, which is leading to chances.

Toyosi Olusanya has twice latched on to loose balls to race in on goal, but as is so often the case with the former St Mirren man, his end product has been sadly lacking.

Changes for both teams at the restart and there is no Josh Fowler for St Johnstone, as Ruari Paton comes on.

The Saints scorer was sitting on the pitch as the referee whistled for half-time, but he looked to be moving comfortably as he made his way down the McDiarmid Park tunnel.

For United, midfielder Abdoulaye Yoro is on, with attacker Daniel Bennie withdrawn.

You simply cannot take your eyes off this game.

It’s been end-to-end from the first whistle, with both teams having a real go.

Falkirk obviously will be the happier of the two teams, but the host have looked very dangerous up front.

Hibs, though, need to ensure they keep it tight at the back, otherwise the visitors look certain to pounce on any mistakes made.

St Mirren are playing some really nice stuff.

Another one-two sets Declan John free down the left, he shoots for goal, but the ball flies into the side of the net.

Aberdeen can't keep the ball at all and, despite leading, have offered very little.

Looking at the pitch an hour before kick-off, the surface looked immaculate. Lush green, like a bowling green.

Already we are seeing, as we did last weekend for the St Johnstone game, the pitch starting to cut up.

There's a particularly bad patch down in the far corner of the pitch at St Mirren goalkeeper Jacob Chapman's end.

Let's hope it doesn't negatively impact the game as it seemed to do last weekend.

Despite manager Neil McCann's positivity about improving performances, bottom-placed Kilmarnock have still only won once in seven outings.

If they are to beat Motherwell for the first time in five meetings, they will have to improve home form that has them joint bottom with Hibs for points won and chance conversion, joint bottom with Aberdeen for fewest goals and top for goals conceded.

Motherwell, though, arrive having only won once in nine themselves, losing four in a row, and surely with the honeymoon period beginning to run out for new manager Alfred Johansson despite early plaudits for continuing the lauded style of play under Jens Berthel Askou.
