A few too many stumbles domestically, but in Europe, Juventus simply do not miss a beat. Spalletti's side came away with a victory in the Netherlands, overcoming AZ Alkmaar to secure their third win in the opening four matchdays, with a draw completing an immaculate European run so far. Taking centre stage were Koopmeiners, who opened the scoring, and above all Kolo Muani, the undisputed star of a night to remember. The Frenchman first conjured up a sublime assist before wrapping up the points with a stunning goal.
AZ Alkmaar:
It proved to be a difficult evening for the Dutch side, who struggled to carve out openings in the first half against a resolute Juventus backline. Trailing by two goals, they attempted to up the tempo after the break to force their way back into the tie. Smit came close with an effort that flew narrowly over the crossbar, before Mexx Meerdink pulled one back in the 88th minute to reignite AZ's hopes. However, their late onslaught was not enough.
Juventus:
The 'Bianconeri' came flying out of the traps, powered by an inspired Kolo Muani. In the 19th minute, the forward produced a moment of pure brilliance: a sombrero flick over his marker in the final third, a blistering turn of pace down the flank, and an inch-perfect assist for Koopmeiners, who swept the ball first time into the bottom corner.
Yet the show was only just getting started. In the 37th minute, Kolo Muani decided to take matters into his own hands: winning back possession, playing a neat one-two with Woltemade, and unleashing a left-footed rocket that left the goalkeeper with no chance. First an assist of the highest calibre, then his own name on the scoresheet: the Frenchman stole the headlines and propelled Juventus to victory with a standout performance.
