Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney are two of the most fierce rivals in the sport and all signs are pointing towards a rematch in the future, but before that, ‘King Ry’ has made his prediction for how ‘The Dream’ would fare against Liam Paro in a welterweight title unification.

Garcia and Haney’s controversial 2024 super-lightweight meeting remains a disputed affair despite its ruling as a no-contest, but both men have since moved onwards, upwards and into the welterweight division, where they have each captured a world title.

‘King Ry’ currently reigns as the WBC 147lb world champion and is being linked to a clash with WBA titleholder Teofimo Lopez, but the WBA’s decision to order a bout between Lopez and Jack Catterall appears to be the main stumbling block to the deal.

Meanwhile, WBO champion Haney is set to collide with IBF titlist Liam Paro on Saturday, December 19, meaning that victory for both Haney and Garcia could tee up one of the biggest rematches in recent memory.

Speaking on his Kick stream, Garcia admitted that he is favouring his rival to get the better of Paro, due to the leaked sparring footage from 2024.

“Hopefully he handles business against Liam Paro, I am pretty sure he will. We have all seen the sparring that they had, Devin was beating him up. So, he is going to fight Liam Paro, I am going to fight Teofimo Lopez or Floyd Mayweather – we are not the same.

“I am a savage, I fight anybody, everybody.”

Haney-Paro is understood to be headed to The Chase Center in San Francisco, the same location where Haney defeated Regis Prograis in 2023.
