Carlos Calderon is set to make his UFC debut at the Meta Apex on Saturday night.
The FURY FC featherweight champion successfully defended his title against Lorram Esteves in October before receiving a surprise call-up from the UFC.
‘Chief’ was originally scheduled to face undefeated prospect Dimitri Jioev (8-0) in January 2027, but that fight has now been cancelled following his unexpected UFC opportunity.
'Notorious' plans to explore free agency after fighting out his current contract
Carlos Calderon has agreed to face Austin Bashi at UFC Vegas 124 on just four days’ notice.
Bashi was originally scheduled to fight Lucas Brennan, but he withdrew from the card after tearing his ACL last week.
Calderon subsequently confirmed he’d signed with the UFC and would be stepping in to replace Brennan.
“God makes no mistakes in his timing,” the 11-4 fighter wrote on his Instagram Story.
“Lord give me strength as I step into this next chapter.
“It’s MY MF time.”

UFC Vegas 124 has undergone several late changes, including the cancellation of its original main event between welterweight contenders Gabriel Bonfim and Sean Brady.
Brady withdrew due to a staph infection, prompting the UFC to book a short-notice heavyweight headliner between Johnny Walker and Waldo Cortes-Acosta.
