The booking of Bron Breakker has left a lot to be desired over the past few months, but WWE has found itself in a problematic situation.
Back in May, Logan Paul suffered an injury while he and Austin Theory were World Tag Team Champions. The injury led to WWE moving Paul’s half of the championship over to the only other member of The Vision who was active at the time, Bron Breakker.
Bronson Reed was still out back then so he wasn’t an option, and evidently the company didn’t want to just vacate the title and crown an entirely new team as champions.
Despite this allowing WWE to proceed with Theory as a World Tag Team Champion as well as adding another accomplishment to Breakker’s list, it has led to the latter’s career hitting something of a roadblock.
Breakker was on track in 2024 and 2025 to become the next top breakout star in WWE. His 2026 even got off to a fairly decent start as he was in the World Heavyweight Championship mix with CM Punk.
However, the situation with The Vision has been problematic for Breakker, who is now stuck as World Tag Team Champion instead if continuing his own ascension – all while he’s pretty much been lapped by Oba Femi who is now the most likely man to win the World Heavyweight Title from Roman Reigns at next year’s WrestleMania.
Reports have indicated that Breakker was originally planned to win the 2026 Royal Rumble, which would have guaranteed him a world championship match at WrestleMania, and was ALSO originally planned to win the 2026 Money in the Bank ladder match, which would have pretty much guaranteed him a world title win some time between now and October 2027.
Neither of those things happened and WWE is now in a difficult position. The seemingly easy solution is to take the World Tag Team Title off Bron Breakker, but the question is… how?
Bronson Reed is back so there’s a possibility of WWE just having Breakker hand over his half of the tag title to Reed, but why exactly would he do that? From his point of view, in storyline, he should want to hold the tag title AND pursue his own singles accomplishments, and there shouldn’t really be any reason why he can’t do both.
The other option is for Breakker and Theory to lose the title to another team – the problem with that is it means Breakker would have to lose, which would lower his stock even more.
Of course, it could be Theory that takes the pin so Breakker wouldn’t be the one DIRECTLY losing, but the problem then is how Breakker reacts afterwards.
If he doesn’t react at all, it would be completely out of character and would go back to the same issue as handing over the title in that he shouldn’t be satisfied with losing the championship, in fact he should be outraged.
One option would be for him to turn on The Vision with a major attack on Theory and maybe the group’s other members as well. The problem there is that would turn him babyface because Theory and the rest of The Vision are so established as heels, so if WWE’s plan is for Breakker to remain a heel, that direction is kind of ruled out.
Breakker leaving The Vision would also leave the group in a sorry state. A faction of Bronson Reed, an injured Logan Paul, Austin Theory and Maxxine Dupri doesn’t feel like something fans would or should care about.
One of the better options would be for Breakker to take out his anger one someone else – preferably a big babyface – but queitly disassociate from The Vision or at least stop teaming with Theory.
That way, he stays a heel but isn’t stuck as Theory’s partner. Still, there would be questions over why exactly he didn’t take out his frustrations on Theory. In reality, it’s so he doesn’t turn babyface, but in storyline – which is what WWE needs to consider – there isn’t really a good logical reason.
Perhaps the best potential route is something we don’t see very often – an untelevised title change with Breakker and Theory losing the tag title at a live event or during a dark match. For example, they defend the World Tag Title against LA Knight and Solo Sikoa at SmackDown this week in a match that won’t be on TV.
This way, fans don’t have to directly witness Breakker taking a loss or the fallout that happens after the match. Subliminally, it would protect Breakker more and would leave fans with fewer questions if he just turns up on TV the next week and moves on.
The downside is that WWE just did an untelevised title change with Stephanie Vaquer, and it might be too soon to do it again, unless the company specifically wants to establish it as something that could happen more often to increase the awareness and ticket sales for those untelevised shows.
It’s very obvious that WWE is stuck here, and has been for a few months. Hopefully, there’s a way out for him sooner or later so he can get back on track to being the future WrestleMania main eventer that he should be.
