JAKE PAUL has vowed to RETIRE from boxing if he loses his comeback fight against Cedric Doumbe.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer announced he will return on December 24 in Dubai against kickboxing great Doumbe.

It will mark his first bout since defeat to Anthony Joshua in December of last year – where he suffered a brutal broken jaw.

Paul admits he is at a make-or-break moment in his boxing career and knows defeat could signal the end.

He said: “They call you ‘Le Meilleur.’ The Best. But on Christmas Eve, I’m putting the best to rest.

“Now, all jokes aside, this is a dangerous fight. Cedric has been in there with killers his whole career.

“He’s a two-time [kickboxing] world champion, and he’s not scared of anybody, including me.

“But this is my sport. No kicks, no takedowns… If he wins, I will hang up the gloves and call it a day.

“But if he loses, the man who calls himself ‘The Best’ just got beat up by a YouTuber with a titanium jaw.

“So, Cedric Doumbe, I, Jake Joseph Paul, will knock you out, embarrass you and defeat you on Christmas Eve.

“This fight is not going the distance, and someone is getting put to sleep in the Middle East, and it’s not Santa.”

Joshua, 37, fractured Paul’s jaw in FOUR places with the injury requiring two separate surgeries.

But in September, the 29-year-old American was passed medically fit to fight on – against the wishes of his close friends and family.

Paul broke the news to his WWE star brother Logan that he was returning to the ring against French icon Doumbe.

But Logan, 31, replied: “No f***ing way! Who the f*** is that?”

Doumbe, 34, is in fact a two-time Glory kickboxing champion with 83 bouts and 75 wins.

He is also 6-1 in MMA but, more importantly, just 1-0 as a boxer – with his sole win in the squared circle coming in 2015.

Doumbe also campaigns over TWO STONE below the 14st 4lb cruiserweight limit the bout with Paul is scheduled for.

It has led to Paul facing criticism over his choice of opponent.

But his promotional partner Nakisa Bidarian hit back: “Jake Paul is 29 years old, 12-2 as a fighter with 7 KOs Cedric Doumbe is 34 years old, 90-8 as a fighter with 51 KOs.

“Other than Joshua, this is the most dangerous opponent of Jake’s career. But wouldn’t expect anything less from Jake Paul.”
